This is my first post! So I hope to keep it simple!

I have been inspired by many recent events concerning our seniors. My parents getting older was my first inspiration. My parents, brothers, sister and I sat down and had a family meeting where we talked about what they wanted to have happen as they age and life changes.

My second inspration was the recent articals in the papers concerning aging in place. So I started doing some research and found the Village to Village non-profit network and the model Village of Beacon Hill in Boston Mass. Although I have been involved in the Gig Harbor Boys and Girls club, I felt the senior club at the facilityis a perfect place to expand my idea, or rather Beacon Hill Village ideas.

I decided to put together a seminar for seniors and their families to explore and empower our community to help seniors stay in their homes longer. So with the aid of the Gig Harbor Senior Club, we are set to have an open discussion within our community about a member driven cooperative to help seniors set this up.

If you would like to attend or want more information please contact me. Please let anyone you know that might be interested the information below!!

The seminar will take place January 28th, 2012 at 11AM at the Senior Club at the Boys and Girls Club, 8502 Skansie Ave. NW, Gig Harbor, WA. 98335

I hope to see you there!
